No. This time I am still awake. You guessed right, a business pitch due tomorrow that is extremely important for the company and a nice account, as we perceive it, to do neat work.
What really blows my mind is the tendency a creative team has to get into high gear only until the deadline is completely on top of us. Is this a special rush we creatives get in order to feel comfortable with the ideas that come out of our mouth? Or, is it simply the perfect excuse to justify these ideas.
Ideas?
More to come in a couple of hours.

It's a symptom of Attention Deficit Disorder, which a lot of creatives have. An ADD Brain is low on dopamine, the chemical that our brains need for motivation. An ADD person waits till the last minute because only then does the pressure to get the job done stimulate the brain and increase dopamine to get things finished. That's why ritalin/adderall work- Stimulates dopamine. Just a theory. I've wondered about this for years concerning my own tendency to wait till the last second to do anything.

It's a very great and nice post, you define each and every sector with very easy steps...

Is this true for other non-creative professions too? e.g. Do doctors perform surgeries best when a life-threatening emergency happens?
I've heard Creatives work best under pressure because we have to focus. Once we focus, then everything aligns and our vision becomes clear.

I think it's human nature to wait until deadlines to get the job done ... you're not alone there :-)
I am currently working as an au pair. I've been here 3 weeks and I don't like it. The kids are a handful and I don't get much quiet or privacy. I want to go home to university. The thing is the parents have been nice to me and I don't want to say that I just don't like it here. Also, I am meant to give a month's notice but university starts in 3 weeks. I need a good excuse why I have to leave that they can't argue with. I don't want to say something like someone in my family is very ill and I must tend to them, because I'm worried that bad karma will cause that to come true! Anyone who comes up with the perfect excuse will get full points and my gratitude.
